Be Safe Nebraska

Tools to Engage Your Team in Safe Driving

Every day, thousands of Nebraskans go to work expecting to return home safely. Yet transportation incidents remain the leading cause of workplace fatalities in Nebraska. Whether employees are driving as part of their job, commuting between worksites, or traveling for business, roadway risks continue to impact organizations across every industry. Safety professionals work tirelessly to reduce these tragedies through training, policies, and awareness—but the reality is that many businesses do not have a dedicated safety professional on staff.

In many organizations, workplace safety responsibilities fall to HR professionals, operations managers, or other leaders who already juggle multiple priorities. These professionals care deeply about protecting their teams but may not always have the time or resources to develop roadway safety campaigns from scratch. That’s why the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter partnered with HR Nebraska and its local chapters to launch the Be Safe Nebraska initiative.

Be Safe Nebraska provides employers with free, ready-to-use resources designed to keep safe driving top of mind for employees across the state. Through simple tools, communication materials, and engagement activities, HR and safety teams can easily promote seat belt use, reduce distracted driving, and reinforce safe driving habits across their workforce. We invite employers to join the effort and take the Seat Belt Challenge, helping make Nebraska’s roads—and workplaces—safer for everyone.
